How An Ownership Mindset Can Change Your Team's Culture by Barry McCarthy (www.forbes.com)4/18/2022 A company’s success is generally measured by its stock price appreciation. That is what most investors are looking for. In any large business, or frankly in any size business, aligning employee and shareholder interests is an incredible way to drive an ownership culture.
Owners act and think differently than employees. Owners are naturally passionate about their company and deeply committed to its success. The business is more than a source of income — it’s part of their identity. Consequently, they view its success as their own. Take a small-business owner. The business lives and dies on the passion and drive of the entrepreneur. I have met hundreds of small-business owners over the years, and the ones who succeed consistently believe in that owners’ mindset and are deeply, personally invested in their company’s success.
