One of the most valuable lessons I've learned recently is to protect my energy. In the past, pretty much every little thing could take me from happy to frustrated to angry in .2 seconds. I blamed it on the traffic, the car that made me miss the light, or the waiter who took too long to tend to my needs. Or how about my rude co-worker who wanted to have a full conversation when I just didn't want to talk? I could blame it on all those factors, but ultimately I was the one to blame. My attitude was awful because I allowed too many things to affect me. As a result, it was very hard for me to claim having a good day when I was a victim to my own life.
